Festive book-folding and Merry Christmas!

Victorian Christmas wreath

The RAU Library has come up with some simple but creative ideas for re-purposing unwanted books, old music scores and magazines at Christmas time.

We have turned some of these items into:

  • a Victorian Christmas wreath
  • desktop Christmas trees
  • candles
  • hedgehogs etc.

We loved book-folding here at the library and we love the fact that we are giving life to an old book that could have ended up in landfill somewhere.

This way we think we added a little recyclable Christmas cheer around the library.

Perhaps you to want to have a go at this? It is never too late to be creative and try this exciting activity. You can also make a personalized gift for your loved ones!

Please note: no useful books were harmed in the making of these items! We continue to send all useful books to BetterWorld Books.

Quote of the Moment

“But after all, in a library as in a business, the best advertising is that done by good service. The good library is its own best advertisement” – John Cotton Dana
