RAU saving books from landfill for Climate Week

Climate Week 3-7 March

The RAU Library supported National Climate Week (3-7 March) by receiving donations of books from staff and students to send on to BetterWorld Books. Our library has been working in partnership with Better World Books since 2011 in order to encourage the sustainable re-use of books, to support literacy charities, and to keep books from ending up in landfill.

The RAU Library welcomed the opportunity to be involved in “Climate Week” and would like to think that it has made a small to contribution to this campaign, as a result of which we have sent 10 boxes of books to BetterWorld Books! More information about BetterWorld Books can be found at:

“Staff and students were amazingly helpful and willing to participate and we managed to get a good amount of donations,” said Theano Manoli who supervised the project.

We can only say a big “Thank you” to all the people who responded to our campaign, for small changes can make a big difference to our daily lives and to our environment too!
