The programme for the day was organised to include: a tour of the library and discussion of RFID; a presentation of reading list management software which HAU currently uses (Talis Aspire); and the use of EBSCO Discovery Service for locating e-resources easily. The final topic “General Discussion” covered social media use, book ready books.

Visiting Harper Adams gave staff the chance to learn about initiatives that have helped to improve services at HAU library, as well as compare notes and share ideas.

Peter Brooks, RAU Library Manager, said: “We have been talking about the day back at the RAU, and all agree it was a really useful and interesting exchange, and the hospitality shown and the effort your (the HAU) team made served to make the day all the more rewarding. Of course, we extend an invitation for a reciprocal visit to the ‘Royal’ in the future”.

Thank you for the invite to visit the Royal – we would very much like to visit, perhaps this time next year”.
