Lackham visit

On 5th August RAC library staff visited the library at Lackham College, in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside. The College is situated in beautiful surroundings at the end of a mile-long drive.  It has a very rural feel.

Lackham Library Staff were very welcoming and they showed us around the library there and we exchanged information and ideas.  Towards the end of our visit we had an interesting tour around the campus.

We were fascinated by the Museum of Agriculture and Rural Life, the delightful walled garden, and we were impressed by plants and vegetables in the hot-house, including giant-sized lemons.

The animal trail was a real discovery too, with lots of exotic animals such as meercats, boa constrictors, praire dogs, otters and squirrel monkeys.  All these things are there not just for show but primarily for Lackham students to gain a lot of practical ‘hands-on’ experience.
