Tom's leaving

Tom’s leaving

Sadly, Friday 21st November 2008 was Tom Hyland’s last day working as Deputy Librarian at the College.  Tom had worked here for a little over a year, having joined us from the University of Bath library, but he was tempted to move back to the North-East to take up a position as ExploreMusic Manager at the Sage Gateshead.

A number of College staff joined Tom’s library colleagues to say ‘goodbye’ to Tom, and to thank him for the contribution he made to the effective running of the Library while he was here, especially in the management of the serials collection and OLIB, our library management system.  We wish him well in his new role.

Quote of the Moment

“But after all, in a library as in a business, the best advertising is that done by good service. The good library is its own best advertisement” – John Cotton Dana
