Library fines are in place to ensure fair access to library resources for all users. You can help make the borrowing service more convenient and fair for yourself and others by noting the due date, returning items by this date or by renewing items before they become overdue.
Put simply, it’s very easy to avoid fines. Just bring your items back on time or renew them before they become overdue.
If your fines reach £1.00 or over, you will not be able to borrow any items until the fines are paid. Fines over £5.00 can be added to your College account during term-time, at the library’s discretion. At the end of each term any outstanding fines or charges over £1.00 are transferred to your College account. Fines are calculated in the following way: (NB Fines are not charged on days the Library is closed.)
